What You’ll Do
You’ll work closely with a senior mentor to design, develop, and maintain code in Python, Golang, or a similar language, adding new features and debugging real issues in Red Hat products like RHEL and OpenShift. Beyond individual coding work, you’ll collaborate with teams across Quality Engineering, Design, Product Management, and Documentation throughout the product cycle — and you’ll be part of a broader intern cohort, working on multiple projects within Global Engineering while receiving structured learning on technologies like Ansible, RHEL, OpenShift, and AI. Red Hat is explicit that interns aren’t relegated to busywork — you’ll be an active contributor to your team’s day-to-day work.
Eligibility
- Currently pursuing the final year of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline
- Working knowledge of written and spoken English
- Basic knowledge of and passion for Software Engineering
- Basic knowledge and willingness to use Python, Golang, or a similar programming language
- Genuine curiosity and a desire to understand how things work internally
- Willingness to learn and proactively work as part of a wider team
